Catching red fish in crystal river is simple with Capt. Bear Smith

Report Date: July 19, 2007

Catching a red fish in Crystal River right now is esay. If you can't do it you should trade you fishing rods for some golf clubs or knitting needles!!!.The fish are every where form the spoil islands to the back water. They will eat almost every thing from live bait to plastics. The way to catch these fish is easy to. All you have to do is find a spot that has some rocks or oysters with moving water and put some baits out. I like to use big live shrimp that I put on a 1/4 oz. jig head and place the bait just out side the edge of the rip "AND PUT THE ROD IN THE ROD HOLDER" the more you move your bait the harder it is for the fish to find it.You should hit three or four of your favorite spots befor 10:00 am. After that the fish just don't seem to be wanting to eat. So change plans and go out to the local grass flats and try you luck at finding some scallops they are also plentyful right now in 3 to 5 feet.Or if you dont like to get in the water you can go a little futher off shore and jig up some nice trout. You should be able to do all this by 1:00 pm. To be striaght with you after that.
"ITS JUST TO DAMN HOT" just ask Tracy and Karen Ratcliff of Wild Wood Florida. They spent some time with me on thursday 7/19 they ended up with a limit of reds and some nice sand trout "ALMOST THIRTY". we had a great,
"COMMON HOOKER ADVENTURE" Thanks guys I hope to hear from you soon.
