ever get tired of catching fish ? No. ME EITHER
Report Date: October 24, 2007
The trout bite is getting better and better. The cooler the water gets the better the trout bite is.
On my last few trips my customers have had a blast catching trout. It seems that there's not a wrong way to fish for them they are eating every thing that you can put in the water. We’ve caught them on live shrimp, cut lady fish, jigs, and top water just to name a few. I haven’t seen ant of those great big gators yet but, my customers have been catching plenty of trout around the 17 to 18 inch size. These fish are a lot of fun on a small light spinning out fit. They are starting to show up every where that there is deep holes that has moving water around them put your baits in areas like this and you will catch plenty of trout.
Trout aren’t the only thing that is trying to fatten up for the winter the red fish have been very active also even the smaller fish that we’ve been catching are big. I mean fat and thick . My wife Lindsay caught one that was only 22 inches last Saturday but it weighed over 3 and 1/2 lbs
That’s a fat fish for any region on this side of Florida.
The full moon is approaching in just a few days which should put the mangrove snapper in to a feeding frenzy try using cut pin fish or live shrimp around your favorite snapper hole and you should do very well. But don't be surprised if you get broke off around some of those rock piles that hold snapper. Have a big rod ready with a weight and a big circle hook just in case a big gag grouper shows up. The days are getting shorter and those bigger grouper are coming inshore to find warmer water just like every thing else.
