The Trout are back

Report Date: October 6, 2007

Well folks its soon to be fall and, that means that the the trout are starting to show up again and they are a welcome sight. This past summer was one to be remembered with all the reds that we caught over 200 that were over the limit. But it's time to start going after those great big gators. They just can't be beat they are fun to catch and great fighter on light tackle. Now how to catch them.
There are mant ways to catch trout, and they are all an absolute blast. Top water is my favorite but some folks don't want to work that hard.MirroLure has a new top water lure out that is perfect for trout. It's the M.R. 16 or the mirromullet it makes trout go nuts.A poping cork with a live shrimp or pin fish works well. It's a no brainer way to catch fish and its absolutely the most affective. You can also catch them on a number of soft plastics such as Salt Water Assassins new Blurp series. It's a great scented bait that can be used in many different ways. My favorite is on a lightly weighted worm hook and slowly twiched around oyster bars, grass flats, and sand holes
O.K. now you know how to catch them but how do you find them. Trout like all other fish use under water highways to get from one area to the next. And our region is covered with these so called highways. Right now and for the next few weeks you will find them using these paths to come from there cool summer time hide outs to there warmer and shallower winter time haunts. find these channels that lead to a big flat or some other type of area with cover and food and you will find yourself some nice trout
